Code 95 Qualification – Who needs it?
Code 95 confirms a driver’s professional qualification in the format 95.DD.MM.YYYY. Without it, the commercial transport of goods in the EU is prohibited, and the digits after the number set the date until which the qualification is valid.
It applies first to categories C and CE, i.e. trucks over 3.5 tonnes, and also covers bus drivers in categories D and DE. The qualification is renewed every 5 years. In Poznan and across the metropolitan area – in Swarzędz, Luboń, Tarnowo Podgórne, Gądki, Robakowo or Kórnik – demand for C+E drivers is driven by high-bay warehouses and distribution companies.

You complete the Code 95 course entirely over the internet. Whether you live in the Old Town, Grunwald, Jeżyce, Wilda or Nowe Miasto, lectures and tests are available from a computer or phone at any time.
The programme covers the mandatory professional topics: a driver’s driving and rest time (Regulation 561/2006) and the safe transport and securing of cargo.
Periodic training or initial qualification?
Which course is right for you follows from the date you obtained category C.
If you obtained category C, C1, CE or C1+E before 10 September 2009 – or you are renewing an expiring qualification – you take the periodic training, i.e. the short course: 35 hours, five days of lectures, no exam.
If you obtained category C after 10 September 2009, the initial qualification applies to you – a long course in a full version (280 hours) or an accelerated one (140 hours, from the age of 21). The long course ends with a state exam of 30 questions, after which the voivode issues an electronic certificate. The initial qualification is taken once in a lifetime; afterwards the periodic course is enough. For category D the analogous threshold is 10 September 2008. The PKZ profile and list of documents
It all begins with the PKZ (Professional Driver’s Profile) – a digital profile generated by the transport department, holding the driver’s data, medical and psychological certificates, and completed courses. We fill in the application for you and guide you through the whole procedure.
Registration requires: a valid photo ID document (passport or ID card, with a photocopy), a valid driving licence with the relevant categories (with a photocopy), a medical certificate, a psychological certificate, one colour photo 35 × 45 mm, and a completed application. Medical and psychological tests can be done in Poznan – we will point you to where to book them.
Qualification certificate and the plastic Code 95
After completing the course you receive the Vocational Qualification Certificate, which since 5 April 2022 is issued only electronically and is valid for 5 years.
Drivers whose licence was issued outside the EU, EFTA or Switzerland cannot have Code 95 entered directly into the licence – for them a plastic Code 95 is issued, i.e. the Driver Qualification Card. We arrange it for drivers from Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and any other countries around the world, and we help with changing a foreign driving licence into a Polish one. A driver with a Polish or other EU licence gets Code 95 directly in the document.
